GITEC Summit 2010

Johnston McLamb Exhibits at the GITEC Conference in March

Chantilly, VA—March 7-9, 2010 — Johnston McLamb hosted a booth at the GITEC Summit conference in Orlando, FL. The conference was held at the Renaissance Orlando Resort at Sea World. The theme of the conference was IT Innovations Solving Complex Business Challenges. In keeping with the theme, we demonstrated our offerings in the following areas:

  • Open Government: Transparency, Participation, and Collaboration - The current Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government. Executive departments and agencies are being encouraged to harness new technologies to put information about their operations and decisions online and readily available to the public. Johnston McLamb offers extensive skills and experience with enterprise data management, visual business intelligence, and web applications that facilitate interactive information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design, and collaboration.
  • Visual Business Intelligence - Executives want to immediately see "what needs my attention now" in as close to real time as possible. See how our visual business intelligence (VBI) solutions present information in a format designed for decision making. We go beyond data displayed in tabular reports and communicate information clearly and effectively through both graphical displays and maps, where appropriate.
  • Enterprise Data Management - We routinely work with some of the largest databases in the world. We're highly experienced with integrating data from a variety of sources to facilitate data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence. This is an essential component of open government and transparency.
  • IT Solutions for "Going Green" - A major factor in reducing your energy footprint and becoming more energy efficient is to capture detailed data on all forms of energy usage and integrate it into a readily accessible data resource to support analysis, goal-setting, monitoring, and regulatory reporting. We're creating innovative solutions to help one of the nation's largest organizations capture data on energy usage throughout the U.S., including electricity, fuel oil, natural gas, and vehicle fuels such as gasoline, diesel, propane, and other alternative fuels. We're even estimating energy used by air and rail shipments! The data is used to spot trends, quickly locate problem areas, measure progress and improvements, and report to the Department of Energy and OMB.
  • IT Solutions for Health - Health care and management involves massive amounts of data scattered across disparate systems. But how do you bring it all together and then sift through it to find just what you need to solve specific, real world problems? See an example of a highly sophisticated yet easy to use application that uses maps to display dialysis centers across the country correlated with the demographic characteristics of the populations they serve. Zoom in to see details by state, county, and congressional district. Display characteristics of dialysis centers, such as stations, treatments, and proximity to other facilities.

The Government Information Technology Executive Council (GITEC) is a council of Senior Level Government Executives organized to support the delivery of high quality and cost-effective Information Technology (IT) services to their customers. It provides an open forum and avenues through which Senior Level Government and Industry Executives share and collaborate on Information Technology (IT) ideas, challenges, and successes. The GITEC Summit is the premier forum for government leaders, industry and academia to share ideas, challenges and successes surrounding the implementation, management and use of Information Technology. The conference is attended by approximately 800 federal government and senior-level industry IT executives, including government representatives with the following titles: SESs, CIOs, CTOs and IT Program Managers.
